Forget about your present midterm woes and find out about your future! Come join us this Tuesday at 9pm in the IC room for a SAO study break, where we will make fortune tellers, have an expert palm reader read your future, and learn about our zodiac sign`s. Remember, young grasshopper, don’t lose sight of the big picture. There will also be yummy snacks!

2. The State of Asian American Studies at Universities Today

On Saturday, November 6, 2010, the Undergraduate Advisory Board of the Asian American Studies Program at the University of Pennsylvania will be holding the first ever Asian American Studies Summit entitled The State of Asian American Studies at Universities Today.

Bonny Tsang from UPenn writes,
“‘We are holding this conference because we want to build our network of support with students and professors for Asian American Studies along the East Coast. I want to meet other students who have struggled with the same issues on their campus so that we can learn how to confront these situations. Hopefully we will walk away from the Summit learning how to strengthen our own programs and enrich our school’s environment.

We have panelists from our school, University of Maryland, and Cornell. Students will be represented on these panels too! This conference is completely free and will be an great opportunity to learn about how to provide better support for Asian American Studies at your own school! It would be great if students came from different schools so that we can better understand the situation on various campuses.”

Contact James Mao (jmao4) if you want to attend/have any questions!
